Life is short. Too short. And the older I get, the faster it seems to race by.
So far, I’ve really enjoyed the ride. I mean, I’ve had crazy ups… and wild, wild downs… but overall, I really feel lucky to live the life I’m living.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t have a lot left to do. A LOT. In fact, I’m sure I have things to do I haven’t even thought about.
As a reminder to myself (and a public commitment), I decided to post a list of the things I want to achieve before I “kick the bucket”.
Having said that, I H-A-T-E the term “Bucket List”. What about “Life List” or “Awesome Life List”. Or “WOW! I Want to Do All of These Amazing Things List”?
One day, I was checking out some cool new personal development blogs – and I came across Steve Kamb’s blog, Nerd Fitness. Steve has a killer name for the list of things he wants to achieve during his lifetime:
An “Epic Quest of Awesomeness”.
So I decided to borrow part of that term for my list. “My Epic Quest”. (Thanks, Steve. You rock!)
That’s what this list is. My “Epic Quest” to live an awesome, fulfilling, fun, happy life.
A few “thing” goals… some “financial” goals… but more “experience” goals by far. Mainly because I spent the first part of my life chasing things. Then, when I had them, I realized that life wasn’t about the THINGS I had. It was about the experiences I had. The people I helped. The friends I made. Doing fulfilling things and becoming someone better than I was yesterday.
This list is a work-in-progress. I’m a work-in-progress. But everything has to start somewhere. So this is my start. My Epic Quest.
My Epic Quest
Here they are in no particular order – the things I want to have, be, or do during my lifetime. (If you’ve got any ideas of things for me to add, please let me know in the comments section at the bottom of the page)
